I’m a freelance writer and mum of two based in Royal Leamington Spa.

I’m originally from the West Highlands in Scotland where my love of wildflowers and gardening first took root. After graduating with an Honours MA in English Language and Literature, I began a career in marketing and from there moved into copywriting; first freelance, then for a full-service agency, where I worked for many years on a wide range of accounts.

After starting a family I decided to embark on the RHS Level 2 Certificate. Partly for fun, but also because we’d bought a new house with a big garden that we wanted to transform into something amazing, and I thought a solid grounding in the theory of garden design and plant selection might help.

Now I blog about our garden here and keep a photographic record on Instagram. And in a pleasingly circular fashion, I fund my expensive plant and magazine habits by writing about plants for magazines.
